During a special operation on the frontline of the military conflict in Ukraine, the Shturm-S anti-tank missile system (ATGM) of a separate anti-tank artillery battalion of the Western Military District (ZVO) motorized rifle formation could stop a tank breakthrough.
According to the commander of a platoon of self-propelled ATGMs under the call sign “Stary” in a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry, the ATGM Shturm-S hit two Ukrainian tanks, firing from a distance of 5,000 to 6,000 meters, depending on the type of missiles installed.
According to “Stary”, this model of anti-tank systems participated in real hostilities and hit targets from the first shot. The department noted that units of the Western Military District successfully use Shturm-S to destroy tanks, other weapons and military equipment, as well as to destroy long-range firing points and engineering structures of the enemy.
In addition, this ATGM allows you to hit manpower in shelters and field fortifications, as well as low-speed air targets, such as helicopters and drones, reports RIA Novosti.
Earlier, military expert Vasily Dandykin said that Russia was inflicting preemptive strikes on the headquarters and troop concentrations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front of the special operation.
