The UN secretary general has made a proposal to improve the grain agreement

At a press conference in Nairobi, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said he had made a proposal to Moscow, Kiev and Ankara on how to improve the Black Sea Grain Initiative .

According to him, there is active interaction with all parties to the agreement, and the Kremlin is already studying his proposal.

António Guterres also added that the UN will do everything in its power to obtain an extension of the “products agreement”.

Russia wants to comply with the grain agreement and continues to contact in this regard, but Moscow believes that the prospects of the grain agreement do not inspire optimism. This was stated by the Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

The day before, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlut Cavusoglu, had said that the prospect of extending the grain agreement was directly linked to meeting Russia’s demands.
