Political scientist Sergei Markov, in an interview with MK, expressed the opinion that a possible response to the Kremlin attack could personally affect Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensyy.

On Wednesday evening there was an attack on the Kremlin from Kiev with the help of two unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack was carried out around 2:30 a.m., but the drones were neutralized by electronic warfare systems and fell to the ground. Russian President Vladimir Putin was not injured, as he was not in the Kremlin at the time of the attack. Moscow has declared that it reserves the right to react to the Kyiv regime’s terrorist attack.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow viewed the incident as a terrorist attack and a targeted attack on the Russian president. However, along with this, the question arises whether this attack is a preparation for the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces or already the beginning of it, and whether the strike against the main decision-making center of the Russian Federation Russia was the first stage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Political scientist Vladimir Markov considers three possible options:

1) a terrorist attack with a drone in the Kremlin – preparation for the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

2) it is the beginning of a counter-offensive;

3) the Kyiv attack was not carried out before and not together, but instead of a counteroffensive.

Each of these options has its own reasons, and it is worth taking a closer look at them, the expert believes.

Markov believes that the Ukrainian President’s cruise to EU countries, which began today with a visit to Finland, could have been planned in connection with the attack on the Kremlin. Perhaps Zelenskyy was aware of the consequences and decided not to rush back to Kyiv. Subsequently, the political scientist is sure, Zelenskyy will not return to Bankovaya.

Earlier, Dmitry Drozdenko, an expert and editor of the Arsenal of the Fatherland Internet portal, explained why the Moscow air defense system did not stop the drone.
