Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

State Department Approves US-Czech Republic Deal to Repair $650 Million in Combat Helicopters

The US State Department has approved a possible agreement with the Czech Cabinet regarding the modernization and repair of military helicopters. The total amount of the agreement is approximately $650 million. This was reported by the US Defense Cooperation Agency, which operates within the structure of the Pentagon.

It is clarified that the Czech government has asked Washington for the purchase of equipment and the provision of services for the repair of six Bell AH – 1Z Viper and two Bell UH – 1Y Venom, reports RIA Novosti in a message from the US Department.

The agreement between the countries is aimed at the foreign policy and national security interests of the United States, and will also help to strengthen the security of a “NATO partner, which is an important force in ensuring peace and stability in Europe”. says the agency.

Now the US Congress will decide the fate of the agreement between Washington and Prague. The legislator will examine a possible agreement within a month.

Earlier it was learned that US ground forces aviation will remain on the ground until all pilots have been trained and tested for safety protocols. The US military command has decided to temporarily halt flights in response to the death of 12 servicemen in a helicopter crash.
