Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam has praised the cultural heritage of the state of Assam and said that it is a reflection of the culture of unity in spite of diversity in our country.
A high-level delegation from the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, led by Shri Gautam, reached the Assam Vidhan Sabha Bhavan on Friday, which is currently on a study tour focused on ‘e-Vidhan’ and parliamentary functioning. Apart from Mr. Gautam, the delegation includes senior members Gaurishankar Bisen, PC Sharma, Divyaraj Singh, Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly AP Singh and Under Secretary Narendra Mishra.
Official sources said here today that Mr. Gautam was accorded a ceremonial welcome in the Assam Legislative Assembly by the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimari. A joint meeting of the delegations of both the states was held in the Vidhansabha on e-legislation and other parliamentary subjects. Before the meeting, Assam Assembly Speaker Mr. Daimari briefly explained about the culture and parliamentary system of Assam and welcomed the delegation from Madhya Pradesh.
During this, Shri Gautam in his address shared the experiences of his visit to Assam and said that the culture of this state is very rich. Better work has been done in the Vidhansabha under the leadership of Speaker Mr. Daimari. He also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Daimari for his kind hospitality. Mr. Gautam also threw light on the innovations being done in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and said that efforts are being made to make maximum use of modern techniques in the proceedings of the House.
In honor of Mr. Gautam, Mr. Daimari also organized a dinner at his official residence. The delegation held a meeting with various key committees of the Assam Legislative Assembly today. During this, ideas related to parliamentary work were shared. The delegation will return to Bhopal via Guwahati late evening today. Earlier, the delegation reached Delhi from Bhopal on April 30 in the morning and Shri Gautam visited the new Madhya Pradesh Bhavan there. During this, he also gave some suggestions to the officers present there to make better arrangements.
The delegation reached Agartala, the capital of Tripura, late at night and held a meeting with a high-level delegation of the Tripura assembly the next day on May 1. In this meeting too, topics focused on e-legislation and parliamentary procedures were discussed. Apart from this, Shri Gautam visited the historical Jalmahal of Agartala and visited Mata Tripura Sundari Temple. It has also been given the place of a Shaktipeeth in Sanatan traditions. The delegation led by Shri Gautam also visited the Mizoram Legislative Assembly and historical places there.
The visit to Manipur was canceled due to law and order situation there and curfew was imposed. After this the delegation reached the state tour of Assam.
