One killed, four including pilot injured in private helicopter crash in Nepal

The accident happened on Friday afternoon, injuring three people, including the pilot of the Simrik Air helicopter. Pilot Surendra Pandey is seriously injured. An aircraft belonging to a private helicopter service provider of Nepal crashed. One person was killed and four people, including the pilot, were injured in the incident that took place on Friday. The accident occurred near the Bhotekhola river in Sankhuwasabha district when the chopper carrying construction material crashed into a tree near the waterway.

According to sources- “The accident took place on Friday afternoon, in which four people, including the pilot of the Simrik Air helicopter, were injured. Pilot Surendra Pandey is seriously injured. The injured have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment.

The helicopter was carrying construction material for the Sankhuwasabha Arun Three Hydropower Project from Kathmandu. A total of five people were on board this chopper and it crashed at 1.30 pm at Sipring near Bhotekhola Rural Municipality while landing.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Godar, pilot Surendra, crew members Tshering Bhote, Manoj Thapa and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Bikram Shankar were seriously injured. According to Simrik Air spokesperson Murli Dhar Joshi, all are out of danger.
