A “civilian” and a “trilateral” welcome the signing of the Jeddah agreement on Sudan

The mechanism expressed its willingness to support the parties and supporters of the talks to fully implement the Declaration of Commitments, according to its statement, and the trio stressed the importance of continued and coordinated support from the wider international community at this critical time.

As for the civilian forces signatory to the framework agreement, they welcomed the signing by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces of the Declaration of Principles which guarantees the protection of civilians and the treatment of humanitarian issues on Thursday evening in Jeddah.

The Civil Forces said in a statement: “This signing is an important first step towards ending the catastrophe that struck our country after the outbreak of war on April 15, and it is a step that requires more effort. to complete it in order to achieve a permanent ceasefire and then a comprehensive and lasting political solution.”

He added: “We call on the leaders of the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces for this important step, and we urge them to respect the provisions of the agreement and to work to accelerate the development of a ceasefire. permanent as soon as possible. We express our deepest thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America for their efforts to achieve This is an important breakthrough, and we call on them to continue this noble work .”
