Test runs of the largest offshore LNG receiving terminal in the world began on 14 May. After its construction is completed, the ratio of electricity generation from clean energy in Hong Kong will be advanced to a great extent. It is of great significance for improving the energy infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The Hong Kong LNG project is the largest marine energy infrastructure installation project in China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in recent years. It comprises an LNG receiving terminal, a double berth marine terminal and two submarine pipelines. Once delivered to the terminal, the liquefied natural gas will be transported via submarine pipeline to two large power stations in Hong Kong, providing a stable and clean fuel for power generation.
