New Delhi. A 19-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly killing a person during a quarrel in east Delhi’s Shahdara. The police gave this information on Monday.
According to the police, the incident took place late night on May 6 in Vishwas Nagar area when Karan (19) tried to snatch a liquor bottle from Sooraj. An argument broke out between the two when Suraj’s brother Rahul (35) reached there and slapped Karan several times. According to the police, when Rahul was returning home at around 11.30 pm, Karan caught hold of him and attacked him. Stabbed several times with a knife.
According to the police, Rahul was taken to the hospital in an injured condition where he succumbed to his injuries. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena said that after the incident the accused Karan fled to Surat. According to Meena, when Karan called his father from an unknown number to inform about his escape to Mumbai, his whereabouts were revealed through that call.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that a team of Delhi Police with the help of Crime Branch of Surat Police nabbed Karan on Saturday from a factory premises where he was working.Police say that Karan had committed suicide after the lockdown imposed due to Kovid. had left school. He did not have a good relationship with his family and had a habit of drinking alcohol on a daily basis.
