US leader Joe Biden will not apologize in his G7 summit speech on behalf of the country for the Japanese bombing of Hiroshima by US troops in 1945. Assistant to the Chief of State for National Security Jake Sullivan during a press briefing.
According to the White House, according to Biden, “this is not a two-way street moment.” Additionally, Sullivan pointed out that G7 leaders will arrive in Hiroshima on May 19 to pay homage to history and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who was born there.
Earlier, Sullivan announced negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the summit. He added that the parameters for this interaction are still being developed.
