Armed Forces of Ukraine train to break through defense lines with Challenger 2 tanks

– Published on:

The Ukrainian army seems to be seriously preparing to break through the defensive structures of the Russian army during the coming counter-offensive. In any case, the video footage of AFU training sessions that has swept the web bears this out.

In the published video, the English Challenger 2 tank easily and naturally overcomes both the anti-tank gap and the barriers called dragon’s teeth. At the same time, the foreign combat vehicle does not encounter any problems.

However, if the Ukrainian army also hopes to easily defeat the defense of the Russian army, then in vain. In reality, the anti-tank ditches will be deeper, and the dragon’s teeth, in addition tied together with steel cables, simply cannot be crushed under you.

Moreover, the formation of the Ukrainian army, judging by the video footage, is taking place under the most favored nation regime. That is, Russian artillery does not fire at Western tanks, aviation does not “nightmare” from the air, and infantry with anti-tank systems and grenade launchers are not visible.

In reality, minefields and the opposition of Russian combat vehicles, which have long sought an opportunity to measure their strength with Abrams, Leopards and Challengers, will add to all of the above.

It should be noted that the Russian army had enough time to equip the fortified lines, which now have to be broken through by the Ukrainian army. And no matter how badly they want it, it’s not as easy as training to overcome them.
