The ex-champion of the strongest league in the world in heavyweight Francis Ngannou, after several months of silence, spoke out on a frank confession, and called the real reason for the refusal of a new contract.
“I still had eight fights ahead of me, but the league didn’t give me any opponents, insisting on a new contract. They understood that after all the fights I would become a free agent, and that did not suit them. But there were bad conditions in the new contract, even though they knew that I had no income other than the money from participating in fights. In fact, they held me captive,” Ngannou said.
According to the athlete, after he left, the management of the promotion made it clear to him that he allegedly wanted a space fee.
“In fact, I just wanted to enter the octagon and not be kept in the chain with an unfavorable contract”, concluded the fighter, who from next year will already evolve in a completely different league.
