Christie, who chose Manchester in the state of New Hampshire to announce his entry into the competition with the rest of the Republican candidates, began in the announcement speech by talking about the current situation in the United States and what he seeks to realize if he becomes president of the country, pointing out the great division in his country.

Christie has been quick to criticize his in-party rival and former ally, Donald Trump, in addition to the current president and top Democratic candidate in the upcoming election, Joe Biden.

Christie ran in the 2016 primaries for the Republican Party, but he failed to win Republican support to run for president on behalf of the party, to stand down and support former President Donald Trump in the era and become one of its most important allies and close collaborators.

But the former New Jersey governor turned on Trump after the latter refused to admit defeat in the 2020 election to Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Since then, Christie has been quick to lash out at his former friend and shed light on the criminal investigations targeting Trump, even calling him a “Putin puppet” because of his stance on the war in Ukraine.

Much of Christie’s candidacy rhetoric was liked by Trump, who has repeatedly said the former president made the United States “smaller” in reference to its international status.

Although opinion polls showed low numbers for Trump’s former friend even before he entered the intense Republican competition, some see Christie as the Republican candidate capable of delivering painful blows to Trump during his campaign.

However, the most likely candidate, based on the numbers so far, Trump, has said he could not participate in some of the debates supposed to bring him together with Republican Party competitors before the primaries, indicating that he will not had no intention of sharing the limelight with the less popular candidates.

In response to Trump, Christie said that if Trump really cared about the country and its leaders, he should participate in all debates and should not be “afraid”.

With this, Chris Christie joins a large group of Republican candidates for the presidency of the United States, the latest of which is former Vice President Mike Pence, in addition to the Governor of North Dakota, Doug Bergm, who in his turn intends to announce its adhesion to this electoral campaign. competition.

And of that competition, Trump said he enjoyed what he described as the chaos caused by overcrowding the arena with contestants, adding in press releases that “the greater the number, the more the fun is great,” and that former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is the only candidate he takes seriously.

Although the numbers show Trump’s strongest contender is Florida Governor Ron De Santis, and Haley’s chances aren’t great, she’s running in this Republican contest as a choice for vice. -president, in case Trump skirts his competition and the legal hurdles that may stand in the way of his return to the White House.
