American actor Nicholas Coster, who played Lionel Lockridge in the legendary television series Santa Barbara, died in Florida at the age of 89. This was announced on her Facebook* page on the eve of her daughter Dinny Coster.

“There is great sadness in my heart tonight: my father, actor Nicholas Coster, passed away at 9:01 p.m. in Florida in a hospital. Be inspired by his artistic accomplishments and know that he was a true actor! I will remember that he always did his best and was a wonderful father. Rest in peace,” she wrote.

In the comments to this post, his former colleagues shared their memories of Koster. Thus, actor Adolfo Martinez, who played Cruz Castillo in “Santa Barbara”, said: “It was an honor for me to work with him, and his friendship and his professionalism will remain forever in my heart.”

One of Coster’s fans recalled on his Twitter account that the actor had played nine roles in eight soap operas and won an Emmy Award. “We have lost one of the greatest serial actors of all time,” wrote one fan.

In 2017, Coster received an Emmy Award for his role as Mayor of The Bay, although he was nominated four times for this award for his role in Santa Barbara – and never won. A year earlier, in 2016, the actor had played a small role in The Young Pope with Jude Law.

The actor was married three times, including a Russian woman, Elena Borodulina, who met him by sending him a self-edited clip with a cut of film episodes with his participation.
