MALLORCA — The cameras found them off the Tramuntana coast, exactly where they always find this caliber of wealth: anchored beyond the rocks at Sa Foradada, in waters the Mallorcan press has taken to calling Billionaire Bay.
On Monday, July 28, photographs emerged of Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox aboard David Geffen’s superyacht Rising Sun. Pedro Pascal was on board too, alongside Amanda Anka, the wife of actor Jason Bateman, who had joined the island gathering the day before. And there was Jim Curtis, a life coach and hypnotherapist whose name has been circulating in celebrity circles for some months as Aniston’s companion, but who had not, until this week, appeared beside her in anything as unambiguous as a July afternoon on a billionaire’s yacht off the Spanish coast.

What any of them were actually discussing, and what Aniston and Curtis are to each other at this stage, nobody in the group appears to have decided to clarify on the record.
The Rising Sun has been David Geffen’s floating base of operations through many of these Mediterranean summers. The 138-meter vessel is, by the measurement that matters most in a bay like Sa Foradada, the largest in the water on Monday. Also anchored nearby were the 96-meter Limitless, associated with billionaire Les Wexner, and two smaller but considerable superyachts. The Billionaire Bay designation is informal, local press shorthand for what Sa Foradada becomes between June and August when the cove assembles the kind of guest list that travels by private transfer and keeps any scheduling off the record.
Aniston and Cox have been close for long enough that their presence on the same yacht requires no explanation. The friendship has survived the particular pressures of former co-stars watching careers diverge across two decades since Friends wrapped in 2004. Cox built production interests and returned to television in various capacities. Aniston rebuilt her film profile before anchoring The Morning Show on Apple TV+ from 2019 onward, serving as both star and producer across its run. Their Monday at Sa Foradada was, at minimum, a reminder that some relationships are more durable than whatever produced them.
Pascal’s appearance on the Rising Sun suggests a window in a schedule that has otherwise left very little of the summer unoccupied. His new film Behemoth!, directed by Tony Gilroy, has been named the Centerpiece of the 64th New York Film Festival. The Searchlight Pictures drama, in which he plays a cellist who abandons the Chicago Symphony Orchestra after twenty years, opens December 4. Earlier this summer, his theatrical run continued with The Mandalorian and Grogu, which topped the Memorial Day box office as Star Wars returned to theaters. On the television side, The Last of Us Season 3 continues adding cast at HBO. A Mallorcan afternoon off the Tramuntana coast in late July is, for a schedule like that, something resembling a controlled interruption.
The pairing carrying the most unanswered questions is Aniston and Curtis. Fox News, citing a source with knowledge of the relationship, reported that the two are dating but that it remains casual. Curtis, who built his practice around a personal transformation framework he calls the Magnetic Reality Method, was introduced to Aniston through mutual friends; she had read his book before they met, according to the same source. Neither has said anything about the relationship publicly. The photographs from Monday, credited to Backgrid, are the first to place them together at a beach setting, a category that celebrity coverage treats as a threshold, regardless of whether either party regards it as one.
There is a version of this story where nothing of particular consequence is happening at Sa Foradada. Geffen has hosted famous guests on the Rising Sun for years; Pascal has been photographed at summer events across Europe all summer; Aniston and Cox have been in this register of friendship for two decades. The photographs that emerged Monday and Tuesday confirm only that they were there, that the sun was good, and that Backgrid had a boat.
What is harder to dismiss is the specific nature of the Curtis photographs. First major public beach appearances, in the coverage logic that governs celebrity journalism, tend to get treated as statements whether or not either subject intends them that way. Aniston, who has been on the receiving end of that coverage logic for the better part of twenty years, presumably knows this. The rest, at least for now, has not been said.
