American economics professor Richard Wolf predicted endless conflict in different parts of the world because of Washington’s desire to maintain its hegemony. Wolf shared his reasoning on social media.
He noted that the United States’ share of global production from 1991 to 2021 has increased from 21 to 15.7 percent. At the same time, China’s share increased from 4.3% to 18.6%.
According to Wolf, these data not only indicate a change in the balance of power in the world, but also become the reason for Washington’s increased desire to trigger conflicts and impose sanctions against its geopolitical rivals.
Earlier, Stephen Walt, professor of international relations at Harvard University, wrote in an article for Foreign Policy magazine that the United States does not want the return of a multipolar world and is trying to get rid of competitors.
