March 28, 2023

The refusal of the UN Security Council (SC) to accept for consideration a Russian draft resolution calling for an international investigation into the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines was expected and therefore not surprising. This is how the American journalist, winner of the Pulitzer Prize Seymour Hersh, who had previously carried out his own journalistic investigation on this subject, spoke about the decision of the Security Council of the world organization.

“Certainly. Why do they need them? What else did you expect from them? If it were otherwise, that would be news. <...> It turned out to be interesting with Brazil,” he said in a comment to RIA Novosti. The resolution of the Russian Federation, drafted with the participation of the Chinese side, did not receive the minimum number of votes required at the meeting of the UN Security Council due to the position of a number from western countries. The adoption of the document was only supported by Russia, China and Brazil. The others chose not to respond.Hersh called the expected UN Security Council decision on the Russian resolution on Nord Stream
