Zakharova: some countries staged a farce of the UN Security Council meeting

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, shared her impressions after the meeting of the UN Security Council in New York. According to her, some countries staged a “buffoonery” from the event.

“There are those (countries – approx.) Who can make anything out of anything, not a show, but a farce. You can clearly follow the quality of speeches and the alignment of forces in international relations, who represents what,” Zakharova said.

She believes that there are state officials who favor discussing real issues that require a collective approach, while others use “cheap three-kopeck public relations with weird approaches.”

On Monday, April 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke at a meeting of the UN Security Council with an assessment of the situation in the world and the prospects for the Ukrainian crisis.
