The last two stages of the UAE Tour scheduled for Friday and Thursday were canceled after the discovery of the contamination of two Italian cyclists with the coronavirus, announced Thursday Emirati officials.
“The remaining stages of the UAE Tour are canceled after two Italian cyclists tested positive for the new coronavirus,” said the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in a statement to the official WAM news agency.
The organizers have also indicated that all of the competitors will be tested to determine if they have also contracted the virus.
