Officially .. Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait

The Kuwaiti cabinet officially announced, on Tuesday evening, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as Emir of Kuwait, succeeding Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah , who passed away at the age of 91 on 29th September 2020.

This came in a statement issued by the Council of Ministers after its extraordinary meeting on Tuesday evening at Seif Palace headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah , followed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh .

In the statement, Al-Saleh said that the Council of Ministers “calls upon the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to be the Emir of the State of Kuwait, pursuant to the provisions of the constitution and Article 4 of Law No. 4 of 1964 regarding the provisions of the emirate’s inheritance.”

Earlier Tuesday, the Amiri Diwan in Kuwait announced the death of the Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the age of 91.
