Portugal will send three tanks to Ukraine

February 14, 2023

Portugal is refurbishing some of its Leopard 2 tanks and will ship three to Ukraine in March, Prime Minister António Costa has said.

Costa had previously said that Portugal was negotiating with Germany to supply the spare parts needed to repair inoperable tanks from the country’s stocks.

“Now we are implementing a restoration and maintenance plan for Leopard 2 tanks and according to this plan we will be able to send three in March,” Costa said, speaking in parliament.
