February 17, 2023

Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners on a “101 for 101” basis, officials from Moscow and Kiev said.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a military transport plane would take the released servicemen to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ‘s chief of staff Andrii Yermak posted photos of dozens of Ukrainian servicemen after their release.

According to him, 100 soldiers and one civilian returned from captivity.

Almost all of them defended the besieged city of Mariupol before it fell to Russian forces, Yermak said on Telegram.
