The United States notified Russia of President Joe Biden’s upcoming visit to Kiev hours before departure, the White House said. The administration added that the US leader’s trip had been planned for months. The White House, the Pentagon and the Secret Service participated in planning the trip.
“The visit was strewn with pitfalls and difficulties because the United States does not have a military presence in Ukraine, and the delegation was extremely small,” commented in Washington.
US President Joe Biden paid a working visit to Kiev on Monday, February 20. He arrived in the Ukrainian capital by train in the greatest secrecy for security reasons. The US President met with Zelenskyy and promised to supply Ukraine with 700 new tanks from the United States and its Western allies.
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the US politician’s visit “the most important” in the history of relations between the two countries.
