Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Media: Russia conducted the second flight test of the Sarmat missile

Western sources report that on February 20, the second flight test of the new intercontinental ballistic missile “Sarmat” was carried out in Russia. It is indicated that the test would have ended in failure.
Sarmat’s first launch was carried out from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome on April 20, 2022.
The latest missile launch was reported, inter alia, by CNN, citing two US officials familiar with the situation. At the same time, it was noted that the tests would have been specially carried out on the day of Joseph Biden’s visit to Kiev.
Meanwhile, the deputy head of the Russian diplomatic department, Alexei Ryabkov, denied reports that the missile tests had failed. In his opinion, there is currently a lot of information in the world media and it is not necessary to pay attention to it.

In addition, the United States denied reports of the deliberate launch of Sarmat during the stay of the American president in Ukraine, informed Bloomberg on this subject, citing one of the officials. According to him, the Russian side notified Washington under START of the planned tests, which is standard practice in such cases. According to the source, Moscow’s actions did not surprise the US side and do not pose a threat to US security.
