After the engineers of the Chinese company Chery recently added the “max” prefix to the 8 pro family, some confusion arose. Let’s clarify: there’s the usual 8 pro with a gasoline inline 4-cylinder engine, and there’s the same, but already ‘max’, which means it’s already all-wheel drive, and the corresponding addition to the engine is a turbocharger and an intercooler. We switch to “sport”, and here is what has changed: well first, the response to the accelerator and the steering wheel has become heavier. Sport mode does not give the car unrealistic agility, but even without it the car turned out to be very nimble. I would like to say that it is worth believing in the declared 8.5 seconds at a hundred km / h from a standstill, because the car really “vomits”. With such a power supply, it seems that there will be no problems when overtaking on the highway, it will always be more than enough. In principle, it was possible to switch to automatic mode. When we drive through small dunes, we feel that the car is still all-wheel drive, there are no slips. But let’s be real, hardly anyone on this car will climb through some kind of wild mud or pick up mushrooms. The car is nevertheless destined for another, and the suspension tuning clearly suggests this. That is, when we drive slowly and cross small pits, the suspension works them perfectly – it’s quiet in the cabin and we seem to be floating. Well, the car begins to attack larger pits, battle sounds appear in the cabin, that is, the suspension works in some extreme positions. It’s not very pleasant to hear them, but the car isn’t shaking, we’re comfortable.Here we find ourselves on a narrow off-road section, another “bun” that will make our lives easier is the all-round visibility system. The main thing is that the cells are clean. Using this mode feels like the car can do so much more than the driver, and it feels like pranking and squirming around a bit. Without this system, we would have driven much longer in steep zigzags. Then we cross the field. The car is now dug, it looks like they are stuck, but no, it’s dug, and we’re going further.
