Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Finland decided to hide from Russia behind a fence

Finland has started construction of a three-kilometre test section of a 200-kilometre wall on the border with Russia in the Imatra region. The total length of the future barrier will be 200 kilometers, according to YLE.
Earthworks are currently underway at the site. In addition to the wall itself, they will lay roads and install CCTV cameras.

At the end of September last year, the Finnish border guards proposed to build a fence on the border with Russia, 1,300 kilometers long. This is explained by the desire to stop illegal entry into the country. The initiative was supported by Prime Minister Sanna Marin.
