On March 1, new traffic rules for personal mobility equipment came into force

On the first day of spring, a new set of traffic rules for personal mobility aids (MIS) entered into force in Russia: the status of vehicles was assigned to electric scooters, electric skateboards, hoverboards, segways, unicycles, etc. A number of key changes have been made to SDA for SIM card users, including:• The SIM can be used in urban areas with a maximum speed of 25 km/h, and in residential areas, cycling areas and courtyards with a maximum speed of 20 km/h. At the same time, the speed of scooters from rental services is automatically limited.• You can ride on cycle paths or bike lanes, and if there are none, on sidewalks and roadsides. • The SIM can ride on the right side of the road, but only where cyclists are allowed and the speed is limited to 60 km/h.• When crossing the roadway, you must dismount, take the SIM alongside.• It is forbidden to travel on the SIM together, as well as while intoxicated.Employees of traffic police patrol departments have the right to arrest SIM drivers and fine them for violations.The new rules will help make the city safer and more comfortable for pedestrians, motorists and users of personal mobility aids.Read also: From March 1, owners of electric vehicles will no longer have to pay to travel on toll roads.
