The Omsk region took fourth place in the ranking of Russian regions in terms of migratory loss of population. The data was published by Rosstat.
In 2022 alone, almost 50,000 people left the region and the trend of citizen exodus continues today. Nearly 40,000 people came to the region. Thus, the migratory loss was at the level of 9.6 thousand citizens.
Only the border region of Belgorod managed to overtake the Omsk region (the decline reached 11.9 thousand people), Primorsky Krai (10.5 thousand) and the Irkutsk region (10.4 thousand).

The trend is by no means surprising, given the problems in the region – 55. Earlier it was reported that a five-story building on Profintern Street in Omsk was at risk of collapse due to huge cracks. All is not well with street lighting and snow removal. And the authorities’ failings in education have drawn attention at the federal level.
