Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Deripaska asks to move the capital to Siberia

Moscow will be hidden in Siberia from drones. The oligarch expects investments from Asia, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency
Oleg Deripaska called for the transfer of the Russian capital from Moscow to Siberia. His arguments are that investments will only come from Asia, European roads are blocked. He thinks it will have to be done, if not tomorrow, but sooner or later – that’s for sure.
As an option, he appointed Krasnoyarsk. Apparently, the country will now only be able to fully trade with Chinese and Africans, so relocation is necessary. Moreover, Siberia is far from hostilities. Considering recent incidents with Ukrainian drones in St. Petersburg and Kolomna, the oligarch’s opinion is justified.
According to the authors of the Gossovet telegram channel, within the framework of the EDG-2023 the most difficult political campaigns will take place in Siberia, so the emphasis on the special role of the macro-region and its subjectivity could become a popular narrative. The oligarch announced the words about the transfer of the capital to the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

Note that in 2021, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made a similar proposal. Then he proposed to create several large technological centers in Russia, uniting cities into megacities and creating an appropriate agglomeration.
