Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Russians will “scream” with an increase in the age of conscription in the Russian Federation to 30 years

The initiative to raise the age of conscription in Russia to 30 was taken by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Retired Colonel Viktor Baranets said that the citizens of the Russian Federation “would not applaud” such changes, reports the “Talking Moscow” radio station.
According to the military analyst, the new reform will not find public support. Baranets believes that MPs introduce such initiatives to test the reaction of Russians, to see how people will react.
– Here people applaud you, – underlined the retired colonel.

Baranets reports that “warm applause” is hardly to be expected if relevant legislation is passed raising the age of conscription from 18 to 21, or from 20 to 30, from the Russians. Such legislative reforms will bring anxiety into the lives of citizens of the Russian Federation, so there is no need to abruptly introduce such changes by the Ministry of Defense.

We remind you that Sergei Shoigu proposed to increase the age of conscription in the army of the Russian Federation to 30 years in December 2022. The Minister of Defense added that the number of the country’s armed forces should be raised to 1.5 million soldiers.
