In 2022, the artist-restorers of the Malye Korely Museum-Reserve restored and preserved around 70 pieces from the main collection. This was reported by the press service of the museum-reserve.
According to chief curator Marina Grigoryeva, the most interesting and intricate objects were the 19th century icon “The Miracle of George and the Serpent”, an early 20th century silk woman’s dress and painted sleighs from the last third of the 19th century. century.
When received for restoration, the icon was under an uneven layer of blackened drying oil with gaps all the way to the edge and burns. The artist-restorer of the easel tempera painting, Irina Svetonosova, removed the contamination, disinfected, reinforced the gesso and the paint layer on the entire surface, and also carried out a test opening of the paint and an opening in the paint on the left side. Drying oil was removed from the entire surface of the painting, restoration gesso was added, staining of areas where restoration gesso was applied, and a protective restoration coating of the painting was completed.
A silk dress produced by the 1st Baidurin manufactory in Ivanovo-Voznesensk was transferred to the fund of the reserve-museum of the village of Patrakeevka, Primorsky district. In the process of restoration, Lyudmila Grigorieva, artist-restorer of textile works, cleaned the fabric and lace from dirt, duplicated and reinforced tears and losses of lace, silk fabric and belt, cleaned the corrosion metal hook and loop, machine mounted stitching on the sleeve.
Working with the sled, artist-restorer of wooden works Vera Chekina carried out work to remove traces of late household repairs and dirt, strengthen the paint layer and the structure of the sled, and restore the loss of the base and stem. She also tinted the restoration inserts and paint layer abrasions, applied a protective restoration coating.
