Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Juma Al-Muhannadi, Head of the Violations Department at the General Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior, said that the aim of implementing the unified electronic system to link traffic violations between Qatar and the UAE is to oblige drivers to follow traffic rules and regulations, which leads to a reduction in traffic violations and accidents, and achieves the public interest in both countries.

Regarding the mechanism of the unified system, Lieutenant Colonel Al-Muhannadi said during his hosting on Qatar TV, this evening, Monday: It is an electronic system in which violations are recorded in the State of Qatar and received by traffic in the UAE automatically, and vice versa is also true, so if a Qatari citizen commits a violation in the UAE, the violation is received automatically. To Qatar via the electronic system.

He explained that the unified electronic system contributes to the speedy exchange of traffic violations. In the past, the process was done through paper correspondence, and now we are a paperless ministry. The electronic system also provides pictures of traffic violations, and allows the person to object to the violation.

Regarding the mechanism for paying violations, according to the new system, he added: The violation can be paid through an application "Metrash 2" Or through the main department or branches of the Traffic Department, and now the citizen gets an electronic link through which he can pay the fine.

Regarding what is being circulated about not leaving the port until after paying the violations, Lieutenant Colonel Al-Mohannadi confirmed that what is being circulated in this regard "incorrect".. Adding: The system provides the possibility of benefiting from a 50% discount when paying violations within 30 days of registering the violation, and this matter works in Qatar and the Emirates, and leads to the non-accumulation of traffic violations, and the whole process is done quickly so that a Qatari who is in the Emirates can pay The violation, and the Emirati citizen can also pay his violation while he is in Qatar.
