Players hoping to collect a rare Vivillon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A have two different things to watch: a gift that expires and a community challenge that does not have an announced deadline. Confusing the two could mean missing the Pokémon available now while waiting for the one promised later.

The new campaign offers a Spewpa that can evolve into one of 16 Vivillon patterns at random. Separately, evolutions by players around the world contribute toward a target of 660,000 Vivillon Points, with a rare Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon offered as the celebration if that target is reached.

The distinction is the useful part of an otherwise straightforward giveaway. Claiming Spewpa does not immediately deliver the rare pattern. The gift and the community reward have different conditions, and the announcement does not give them the same timetable.

The official Pokémon announcement sets the Spewpa deadline at November 18, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. That is 8:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on the same day. The gift celebrates the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension, but eligibility is wider than that package.

Owners of either the digital or physical version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A can receive it, as can owners of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Players do not need to buy the newly promoted bundle simply to claim the distribution. Nor does claiming the gift require a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, according to the announcement.

There are still requirements. The console must connect to the internet, and the user profile must be linked to a Nintendo Account. Mystery Gift becomes available after approximately an hour of play. Someone starting a new save close to the deadline therefore needs time to reach the feature, not merely time to download the game.

To claim Spewpa, players open the main menu, select Link Play, then Mystery Gift, and choose Get via Internet. The announcement tells players to save afterward. This is an internet distribution rather than a password giveaway, and the gift can be received only once per save data. It cannot be claimed again on that same save.

Its random evolution offers a collection opportunity without promising a specific result. The announcement says this Spewpa can become one of 16 patterns, but does not publish a probability table for individual patterns. Players should not read the number of possible outcomes as confirmation that each outcome has identical odds.

The Poké Ball Pattern reward belongs to the other part of the campaign. The official notice says Vivillon Points are tallied on the Vivillon Challenge website as trainers evolve Spewpa. Evolutions are not restricted to the distributed Pokémon: Spewpa caught in the wild or obtained through side missions also count.

That changes the role of the gift. It supplies a convenient starting point, but it is not the only way to participate. Once that Spewpa has evolved, players can continue contributing with other eligible Spewpa rather than waiting for another one-time distribution. The community target is expressed in points, not in a published count of unique players.

The challenge has no stated end date. If its target is reached, the timing of the Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon distribution will be announced separately. The original announcement does not itself establish whether the live counter has already passed the goal, and this article does not claim a verified current total. Players should check the campaign’s current official notices rather than treat the launch announcement as a live progress report.

For collectors, the most important consequence is that November 18 is a deadline for the Spewpa Mystery Gift, not an announced final day to receive the rare Vivillon. The published terms do not provide a redemption window or delivery method for that later reward. Those details should not be inferred from the steps used for the current giveaway.

A related official Pokémon Champions promotion adds another reason to retain a Vivillon befriended in Legends: Z-A. It describes storing that Pokémon in Pokémon HOME and bringing it to visit Champions to claim rewards there. That is a separate promotion, not a requirement listed for claiming the Spewpa gift.

The practical priority is therefore simple: claim the available Pokémon before its deadline, save the game and distinguish that completed action from the community reward still governed by separate announcements. The campaign gives collectors something to do immediately without settling every question about what comes next. What remains missing is the rare Vivillon’s distribution schedule, not the route to collecting Spewpa today.
