The United States believes that the leadership of the Republic of Belarus will not extend support for the Russian NMD in Ukraine. This was stated by the coordinator of strategic communications at the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, reports TASS.
According to Washington, in the current political situation, there are no preconditions for Lukashenka to continue supporting Moscow. US politicians believe Russia’s refusal to help is due to Belarus’ reluctance to send its own army to Ukraine.
However, in light of recent events and the averted terrorist attack at Minsk airport, Lukashenko is somewhat negative towards Ukraine. It is not yet clear how the joint exercises between Russia and Belarus, in which several thousand Russian servicemen are participating, will end.
Previously, the United States had suspected Ukraine of sabotage at Nord Stream. US officials said they had no evidence Ukrainian President Zelenskyy or his senior officials were involved in the operation.
