Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

What flowers are most often bought on March 8

Giving flowers on International Women’s Day is a long tradition followed by many countries. It is worth noting that in Russia the hype for flowers during the holidays does not stop even with price increases. So, according to statistics from the Check Index, the average check for a bouquet today is 2,230 rubles. This is 200 rubles more than last year.

Crowds of people line up for bouquets of all sizes and colors. This year, light and delicate flower arrangements are very popular. But tulips remain the sales leaders. They represent beauty and femininity. It is the symbol of March 8. In the flower market, they are found in dozens of different variations in color and appearance. Yellow tulips also diverge well, despite their status as “heralds of separation.” Counter customers claim to associate yellow with the arrival of spring.

International Women’s Day tulips are so common that they are sold not only in specialized stores, but also in hypermarkets. So, for example, “Lenta” has several options for small bouquets of tulips. And in “Magnet” you can buy tulips with a bulb. Prices in supermarkets are about the same as in florists, but the care of cut flowers is even better in specialty stores. Florists maintain the correct temperature in the room so that the plants feel better and wilt more slowly.

Mimosa takes second place in popularity. The tradition of offering a sprig of mimosa on March 8 has existed for many years. The love for small yellow flowers has existed since Soviet times. It is inexpensive and cold-resistant. After the mimosa, irises are coming in popularity with all their variety of shapes and colors. Irises are most commonly traded in markets. In fourth place are daffodils. Yellow flowers are especially in demand, giving an idea of the warmth of the approaching sun.

In addition to spring flowers, which are especially popular on International Women’s Day, roses are also taken: the classics are always in demand. It is worth noting that the choice of their color directly depends on who buys them – men or women. Florists of “Flowers and Coffee” Olga and Valeria Nazarenko shared an interesting observation: men almost always choose red or white roses, while women are happy to take peaches, yellows, pinks, etc. The fundamental difference in the choice of colors can be traced between the generations. Young people have recently fallen in love with gypsophila, while people of the age of this type of flowers do not understand and accept. They give their preference to good old chrysanthemums and roses.

March 8 is the peak of sales at florists. As demand increases, the price will naturally also increase. The closer the holidays approach, the more expensive the bouquet. So many people order ahead. Therefore, from about March 5, florists have more than enough work. In addition, company parties and congratulations for girls in schools, colleges and universities take place a few days before the appointed date. On March 7 and 8, the queue at the florist often extends beyond the store. And this despite the fact that there is a tent with tulips on every corner, and trucks with bouquets just stand on the roads.

Of course, March 8 is much more than flowers. It is a symbol of love and respect for women of all ages. Giving a bouquet to his mother, wife or girlfriend is a way to show your appreciation right away.
