The vice presidents who oversaw industrial design, online store, information systems, cloud technology, hardware and software engineering, privacy, emerging markets sales, subscriber services and purchasing are gone. In total, these are 11 key positions. Over the past few years, Apple could lose one or two vice presidents over the course of the year, writes Bloomberg.
There was also an influx of leaders. The company has a new director of human resources who has taken over the responsibilities of network manager as well as director of information technology.
Most of Apple left employees who had worked there for more than 15 years. The wave of departures could intensify as many senior vice presidents will soon retire. The company is organized on a functional basis. This means teams contribute to all major products. After the departure of the top managers, their tasks will be distributed, the workload will increase.
The company’s financial problems also led to the dismissal of employees. Last year, Apple shares fell nearly 30% after three years of strong gains. And the salaries of the vice-presidents of Apple depend directly on it. In the worst case, they can lose half of their income.
Apple is focusing on India. This country quickly became essential. Since January, revenues in India have increased, while they have fallen in other regions. Now, Apple sees the country as a separate regional player. Product promotion issues will be handled by regional managers directly with Apple executives in California.
