In a unique step, the English club Chelsea announced its intention to hold a collective Iftar during the upcoming month of Ramadan, on the grounds of the stadium "Stamford Bridge".
The club said in a statement on its official website that iftar is open to Muslims on March 26.
added: "Open Iftar offers Muslims observing the month of Ramadan the opportunity to gather to break the fast together, in addition to providing a safe space for dialogue and mutual sharing".
He continued: "A number of local mosques and members of the Chelsea Muslim community such as supporters and school students will be invited to attend along with Chelsea FC staff.".
He pointed out that "The open Iftar will be organized in collaboration with The Ramadan Tent Project, an award-winning charity established in 2013 with the aim of bringing communities together and developing the concept of Ramadan.".
Chelsea will be the first English Premier League club to host an open breakfast, according to CNN Arabia.
Simon Taylor, president of the Chelsea Foundation, told the website "Blues" the official: "I am delighted to announce the open Iftar along with the Ramadan tent project, and we are very proud to be the first team in the Premier League to do so.".
added that "Acknowledging Ramadan and our Muslim community is an important aspect of our work to promote religious tolerance, and I look forward to welcoming everyone on March 26th.".
