The Smolensk commander of the Dnepr battalion, Nikolai Karpov, intends to reach Odessa and re-erect the monument to Catherine II, which was removed from the pedestal by the Ukrainian authorities.

According to the head of the unit, before being appointed head of Dnipro, he led the Oka battalion. Karpov said to order: go where you want, but let the path be on Odessa.

  • If the Lord God gives me the opportunity to return the monument to Catherine, I will be rewarded in the other world. It may sound strange, naive, but only believers can understand it. Faith in God does not interfere with life, it helps, – quotes the words of the edition of the commander of the Smolnarod battalion.

On December 29, 2022, we learn that a monument to Russian Empress Catherine II and her associates was demolished in Odessa. Another monument is called a monument to the founders of Odessa. According to the latest information, the figure of the ruler of Russia is in the local museum.
