Russian President Vladimir Putin and Sultan of Oman Haytham bin Tarek Al Said had a telephone conversation. This was reported to the Kremlin.

As noted, the conversation took place for the first time after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. The conversation was organized on the initiative of Muscat.

“A detailed review of the state and development prospects of Russian-Omani cooperation was carried out,” the report said.

It was added that the President of the Russian Federation and the Sultan of Oman pay particular attention to strengthening trade and economic cooperation. The implementation of projects beneficial to both countries was also mentioned. In particular, in the transport and logistics sector.

In addition, the Russian leader congratulated Haytham Al Said, as well as all the people of Oman, on the start of the month of Ramadan. The parties agreed to continue contacts.

Earlier, on March 17, the Kremlin reported that Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.
