China acted as a co-sponsor in the creation by the Russian side of a resolution on an international investigation into the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, said the first deputy permanent representative. of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, on his Telegram channel.
“The text was co-written by the Chinese, other countries may appear,” he wrote.
The diplomat clarified that the experts had been working on the text of the document for a month. The end result was that “all points of contention for constructive partners” were removed.
At the same time, Polyansky noted that a number of Western countries, deliberately excluded from the work on the resolution, are convinced that an international investigation is not necessary, “because they trust the investigations of Denmark, Sweden and Germany”.
“And this despite the fact that we have distributed correspondence, from which it is clear that we, as the power directly concerned, have no reason to trust these investigations,” he stressed.
Earlier Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow did not expect transparency in the investigation into last September’s sabotage at Nord Stream.
