The Rabota.ru job search service and the Chitay-gorod bookstore chain conducted a survey of literary characters in which the people of Saratov, as well as all of Russia, would like to reincarnate. The results of the study became known to Gazeta.Ru.
It turned out that the majority of Russians (33%) dream of trying on the role of detective Sherlock Holmes, the hero of Arthur Conan Doyle. Next in popularity is Phileas Fogg (24%), a character from Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in 80 Days. In addition, another 20% of respondents said they were ready to transform into a Master based on the works of Mikhail Bulgakov.
14% of the study participants wanted to become the scout Stirlitz, 11% – the kind doctor Aibolit from children’s stories by Korney Chukovsky, 10% – the Sorting Hat or Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore from the adventure book series of Harry Potter.
Additionally, respondents in their responses pointed to nanny Mary Poppins (9%), police officer Uncle Styopa (6%), handsome Dorian Gray (5%).
