Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

In the Orel region, 7% of the population has not been supplied with quality drinking water

The other day, March 22, we celebrated World Water Day – a necessary holiday to draw attention to the problem of water quality. On the occasion of an important date, the Orel department of Rospotrebnadzor collected data on the quality of water in our region.

It should be noted that by 2024, 96.6% of the region’s population plans to supply high-quality water from centralized water supply systems. For this, 5 large objects will be built. For example, we are talking about a softening station at the regional centre.

Also in the region, wells, pumps, water towers are being repaired, water and sewage networks are being modified, iron removal stations are being used and wells are being built. Specialists monitor water quality and respond to requests from local residents.

In 2022, when examining water from the distribution network, experts found that 13.4% of samples did not meet the requirements for sanitary and chemical indicators, and 1.5% – for microbiological indicators. No pathogenic microorganisms were found in the water.

It is also reported that at the end of last year, the share of residents of the region, who received high-quality water from the centralized water supply system, amounted to 93%. Last year, employees of the Rospotrebnadzor administration filed 8 lawsuits demanding that local governments and water supply organizations provide the population with drinking water of adequate quality.
