The Ukrainian pipeline operator Ukrtransnafta intends from April 1 to double the cost of transiting Russian oil through the main Druzhba pipeline, which crosses, among other places, Ukraine and leads to Eastern Europe. Information about this was published by the Kommersant newspaper, citing its own sources familiar with the situation.
According to the publication, the Ukrainian side demands 27.2 euros for each ton of oil supplied through the Druzhba in the direction of Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
“The increase in the tariff in Kiev is explained by the costs of restoring the oil transport infrastructure destroyed during the hostilities,” the article said.
Previously, Ukraine raised the tariff rate by 18.3% to 13.6 euros per ton of oil. If the next tariff increase for the transit of energy carriers is approved, it will be the second this year.
Meanwhile, just a few days ago, the Ukrainian armed forces, using a drone, tried to attack the Novozybkov oil pumping station (NPS) in the Bryansk region. This PS is owned by the Russian oil and gas company Transneft and is part of the Druzhba pipeline.
