Russia has hundreds of thousands of depleted uranium projectiles and has an arsenal to meet deliveries of such projectiles to Ukraine. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, broadcast on the TV channel “Russia 24 “.
“Russia, of course, has something to answer. We have, without exaggeration, hundreds of thousands, hundreds of thousands of such shells. We are not using them yet,” said the head of state.
At the same time, Putin disagreed with the assertion of the United Kingdom, which announced at the end of March that it was delivering depleted uranium munitions that such projectiles would not cause consequences.
“This, of course, is not true. The fact is that they, of course, do not belong to the category of weapons of mass destruction. It’s true. But the core of a projectile containing depleted uranium <…> always generates so-called radiation dust. And in this sense, it is of course one of the most dangerous weapons," the president said.According to the Head of State, the probability of radioactive dust entering the environment makes these munitions dangerous for humans. "Not just for the fighters, for the fighters, for the environment and for the people living in this territory," Putin added. The news is added
