The White House thanks Qatar for brokering the release of a dissident in Rwanda and his return to America

A statement issued by US President Joe Biden welcomed the release of the dissident (Paul Rusabagina) by the government of Rwanda, and thanked the government of the State of Qatar for facilitating his release and return to the United States.

In a statement from President Joe Biden regarding Paul Rusesabagina’s release, the White House said, "I welcome Paul Rusesabagina’s release today by the Government of Rwanda. Paul’s family can’t wait to welcome him back to the United States, and I share their joy at today’s good news.”

The statement, which was reported by Al-Jazeera website, added "I thank the government of Rwanda for making this meeting possible I also thank the government of Qatar for facilitating Paul’s release and return to the United States I want to express my gratitude to those in the US government who worked with the government of Rwanda to achieve today’s happy outcome".
