October 4, 2025

It is necessary to settle the issue of the introduction of amendments to the legislation providing for the prohibition of any activity of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as the introduction of measures for case of assistance to it. State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin made such a statement on his Telegram channel on Saturday.

“There is a need to work out changes in the legislation prohibiting any ICC activity on the territory of our country, as well as providing for the responsibility to promote and support the ICC,” he wrote.

According to Volodin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief should have the right to protect Russian citizens when international structures make decisions contrary to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

In the meantime, there are plans to open an ICC representative office in Ukraine. The corresponding agreement has already been signed by Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andrey Kostin in The Hague.
