Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Polyansky said the Russian Federation is awaiting Guterres’ decision on arbitration against the United States over the visa issue

Russia insists on an arbitration process against the United States for neglecting host country duties and obstructing the participation of Russian diplomats in the work of the United Nations. The First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, recalled the problems with the issuance of US visas and expressed the hope that the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, would quickly launch the arbitration proceedings against the United States.
“We hope this will be done as soon as possible,” the diplomat said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Polyansky pointed out that Washington systematically violates rules for issuing visas to diplomats from Russia and other countries, and therefore it is time to hold the United States accountable for the obligation to strictly comply with international law.
“The problems are piling up, they are not being resolved in the way they should be resolved in accordance with the spirit and the letter of the host country agreement,” Polyansky said.
Recall that the United States has repeatedly abused the benefits of the host country, violated the norms of international law and prevented the admission of Russian diplomats to America to participate in the work of the UN. Earlier, there were reports of problems obtaining US visas for members of the Russian delegation to attend the UN General Assembly in September 2022.Polyansky’s post that Russia is awaiting Guterres’ decision on visa arbitration against the United States
