Qatar: A traffic incident

Today, Sunday, the Investigation Department of the Patrols and Traffic Investigation Department managed to seize a vehicle and its driver who inspected and manipulated the Al-Mazrouah area, after a video circulated on social media.

And the account of the General Traffic Department posted on its Twitter account that: “With reference to the video circulating about a vehicle driver checking and manipulating the Al Mazrouah area, the Investigation Department of the Patrols and Traffic Investigation Department was able to seize the vehicle and its driver, and legal measures are being taken regarding this violation.”.

The General Traffic Department calls on the public to adhere to traffic laws and regulations.

And according to Article No. (Article 94) of Decree-Law No. (19) for the year 2007 issuing the Traffic Law – according to what was published by Al-Meezan (Qatar Legal Portal), it is punishable by imprisonment for a period of no less than a month, and not more than three years, and a fine of no less than Ten thousand riyals, and not more than fifty thousand riyals, or one of these two penalties, for anyone who violates any of the provisions of the articles, including Article (57 item 1, 2, 3, 7, 5).

Clause 1 of Article 57 stipulates that no person may commit any of the following acts: including driving a vehicle on the road recklessly or in a manner that endangers lives and property.”
