The Interior Ministry confirmed the death of the military commissar Tatarsky in an explosion in a cafe

Following an explosion in a Saint Petersburg cafe, war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky was killed and 16 others were injured. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Interior.
“On April 2, 2023, at 6.13 p.m., the police of the Vasileostrovskiy district received information that an explosion occurred in a cafe on the Universitetskaya embankment, house 25. As a result of the incident, one person died , it turned out to be war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky. 16 people were injured, they are being examined by medical personnel,” the ministry said.
The department added that officers from the St. Petersburg Police Emergency Service are already working at the scene. The reasons and circumstances of the incident are still unknown.
Earlier, information appeared about the power of the explosive device – it amounted to more than 200 grams of TNT, law enforcement officials said.
