The Progressive Politics Foundation, in conjunction with experts, has announced predictions for the 2023-2024 political season for parties nationwide. Particular attention is paid to communists – the political brand is about to hand over power, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency
“KPRF is not only a recognized political brand. It is a symbol of the time, which is still identified with social justice, economic stability, civil equality and friendship between peoples. And that nostalgia is projected into the minds of the public by dreams of a better future,” the authors write.
The constant support of the party, despite its inertia, is ensured by the increase in social demand for justice. Contrary to the forecasts of critics, which began in the 90s, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation did not become a party for pensioners. Communists afloat.
The head of the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society, Konstantin Kostin, refers to potential supporters of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation up to 15% of Russian voters. Within the framework of the SVO, the Communist Party also has its own strengths. Unlike the Russian nationalists, the party, so to speak, offers recipes for the peaceful coexistence of Russians and Ukrainians according to the Soviet experience. Therefore, it cannot be called marginal to one degree or another.
According to experts, the party’s positions are particularly strong in the periphery. Specifically, in the regions of Siberia, the Far North, the Volga region and the Far East, where the communists were most successful in the elections. Therefore, it is unprofitable to quarrel with the Communists of the authorities.
In Primorye, after that, however, the main communist was imprisoned, but recently the Primorsky Regional Court decided to reconsider the case of the former leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in Vladivostok, deputy of the Assembly Legislative of the Primorsky Territory Artem Samsonov, sentenced to thirteen years’ imprisonment for assault on a minor.
“A popular politician in Primorye has been called a victim of a political order, and the party leadership has long demanded a review of this case. And, apparently, these demands have finally been heeded,” the report’s authors write.
As for the future direction, here experts are sure that after Zyuganov retires for one reason or another, the party will continue to be serious.
“Regardless of the outcome of the internal transfer, the party itself objectively remains an important political force – due to its unique heritage and the specifics of the Russian political process,” the authors summarize.
